Step5-communication with "normal (simple)" USB-RS232-converter:
Many common USB-RS232-converters cannot be used with the Step5-software. They do not support 11-bit-transmission although it is even listed in the technical-description.
They are mostly designed for the classic "8-N-1"-transmission.
Remedy:
USB-RS232-converter-cable (Art.nr.: 9359-1-RS232) or PG-USB-cable (Art.nr.: 9359-1)

TIA-portal sets a virtual IP-address in the PC, access to the PLC via CONNECT-line is no longer possible:
Set the "peripheral interface" in the CONNECT-device to the LAN-port to which the used PC is connected. In addition, enter this virtual IP-address of the PC in the menu "Overview" => "Addresses", communication with the PLC is already possible again.

EtherSens-Basic does not send any email-messages although they have been parameterized:
It is essential to check the polling-time in the settings. This is the time in which the EtherSens-Basic checks in the PLC whether an order is available. If this time is "0", the device does nothing.
Furthermore, when using S7-LAN, the module should use a free bus address.
