Connecting existing machines and systems to modern Industry 4.0 infrastructures is
increasingly becoming the focus of automation. Retrofitting can save the costly
replacement of controllers.

Process-Informatik Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH has the solution to transfer
even older PLC generations, S5 and S7-200/300/400, the state of variables into a CSV-file.

There is no reason to deny these older systems, which have been operating reliably
since the 1980s, the step to the OPC UA world. This allows these systems to be
transferred to the modern world without significant effort, extensive
modifications, or even a controller replacement.

These older controllers are made network-compatible via adapters available
from Process-Informatik Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH
such as the S5-LAN++, S5-BRIDGE for the AS511 interface and
S7-LAN++, S7-BRIDGE for the PPI/MPI/Profibus interface.
This allows even very old controllers – back to the S5-90U – to be integrated into
modern IT and cloud environments and continue to be used in the long term.

Configuration is done via the web interface. The device writes the CSV-file
either to the inserted USB-stick or to a network-drive.
