All parameters are stored directly in the XML-template-file.
The template includes all information as:

target directory
target-file with format-specification for the date and time
connection-parameters to the PLC (ip-address etc.)
addresses of the PLC-variables
Time or event trigger for generating the target file / appending records
This information is indicated with the help of keywords at any position in the Excel worksheet. Variables from the PLC will appear in the target file at the same position (cell), where the relevant variable address has been entered.

Support/Updates:
A license is purchased once for a specific installation or as a dongle and is valid indefinitely (= unlimited license lifetime). In addition, our top-level support from our developers as well as updates including new functions can be purchased for 12 months.

Shortly before the support expires, it is possible to extend it for at least another 12 months for 10% of the current list-price. Updates (= current demo-version) and new functions can only be obtained with valid support. Support requests can still be made, but depending on the scope, these will be dealt with later.
Up to one month before the end of active support, we will inform you about the possibility of extending support. A support renewal is possible at any time in the first year after the end of support for 10% + 20% for each started quarter (since the end of support) of the current list-price. After the first year, a new license must be purchased for the support renewal.

Logging of workflows, recording of operating states, archiving of process data, all of these requirements can be handled with "PLC data in Excel".
You create a template-file in Excel, enter special keywords as placeholders for PLC-data such as flags, timers, counters, I/O and the connection-parameters and save the file as a template for the tool. The tool runs on a Windows compatible PC and polls the defined controller. As soon as the trigger event occurs, the configured PLC-data is read out and entered in the template file instead of the placeholder and saved under a specified file-name in the specified directory.
It is also possible to communicate with controllers without a network-interface via S7-LAN (with S7-200/300/400) or S5-LAN++ (with S5-90U to 155U).
A corresponding Excel-file for each trigger event.
